Marine fish with regularly ossified. Elongated and slightly compressed body. Profile of head quite abrupt. Eyes located very high. Small and conical teeth. The length of the chin comes to be 2/3 of the head. The back is pink red. Silver flanks. It measures up to 25 cm.
