Flat bony fish of oval, elongated and narrow body. Eyes on the right side of the body. Dorsal and anal fins attached to caudal fin by a membrane. The lateral line describes a gentle curve in the head. Color: on the ocular face, purplish brown with numerous light spots and dark transverse bands in the center of the body. Fins with white border. White blind face. It measures up to 40 cm.
