Decapod crustacean. This freshwater crab presents a whitish dorsal patch at the junction between the two pieces of each clamp, the moveable and fixed finger of the chela. Another key for its identification is the face, quite rectangular and with a steep step towards the point. Hands, highly developed, have a reddish color on their ventral face. The carapace is slightly bluish and the abdomen quite wide. The adult specimens reach 150 mm in length.
