2019 - International Congress on Social Sustainability

This day will bring together many world-class experts, including top representatives of FAO, International Labour Organization, GAA or Thai Union, as well as senior officials from the private sector.

The eighth edition of the Conxemar-FAO Congress will have once again the participation of speakers of international reference, to deepen the issue of social sustainability, which has become a major concern for the industry and, specifically, for the fishing sector . Due to work incidents, violations and abuses of human rights and workers appearing in different stages of the fishing sector, there are currently numerous national and international initiatives that are demanding a greater social responsibility and improvements in working and social conditions of the sector.

The Congress will take place on September 30, 2019 in the Centro Social AFundación (Policarpo Sanz, 24-26) in Vigo (Galicia, Spain) and plans to bring together about 400 attendees among agencies, government representatives, associations, academia, NGOs and professionals at the highest level of all over the world, in a meeting that has become a world reference for all the agents of the seafood value chain.
